Hi, not sure if is the right board to post this but, just wondered if anyone had any experience with LifeLink (crisis) in Glasgow?
http://www.lifelink.org.uk/Crisis/
I have been referred to them by the Glasgow mental health team folk to try and gain control (personally I dont think im out of control) of my SI. I have my first appointment on Monday and am quite nervous.
To cut a long story short, I had a lot of horrible stuff happening (dad abusive, died of heroin addiction, mum alcoholic...) when i was in my teens, also I have had to be a emotional support to my mum for years... Anyway Things have been hard and my SI has been getting worse too. Im 27 now, had SI periods since my teens. So after starting antidepressants I was referred to the mental health team, had a huge assessment thing a couple of weeks ago and have been told that psychotherapy would really benefit me and help me deal with intrusive thoughts and memories (like giving my mum CPR after one of her suicide attempts..).
I really want to start the psychotherapy, but the the psychotherapy dept? wont see me till I have 'control' over my cutting.... Hence lifelink.
Really sorry for rambling, just unsure about lifelink, Im sure its one to one stuff, well I hope so, really really dont feel comfortable with 'group' therapy...
