Have BP but don't experience hypomania often that I am aware of. I just thought someone might be able to give me an objective opinion.
I am very irritable at times, i have no patients with my kids, I have been drinking and taking pills (painkillers) more often, not sleeping at all if i don't take my seroquel, hypersensitive to noise, but I don't have that on top of the world feeling or over activity. I am unorganised, and have had some panic attacks out of the blue.
I have been know to feel like this when depressed but I am not depressed at the moment. Just feeling out of control.
Maybe some sleeping pills will help calm you down? They did with me anyway.
When we lose twenty pounds... we may be losing the twenty best pounds we have! We may be losing the pounds that contain our genius, our humanity, our love and honesty. ~Woody Allen

I think it is very difficult to tell from not knowing you, or seeing you in person. However, as a rule of thumb - if ever in doubt then it is best, and safest to contact your Dr or Psych for an appointment or, at the least, a phone call as they may be the best judge and, if you are manic or hypomanic, they can take the appropriate action to keep you on a safe and even keel.
Best of luck.

If the Human brain were so simple that we could understand it, we would be so simple that we wouldn't.
I hope that the medication increase helps.
There is such a thing as 'dysphoric mania' which is where you experience a lower mood during an episode that is otherwise manic.
Stop thinking about what I want, what he wants, what your parents want. What do you want?
My doctor said to me if I experience any of the symptoms of mania which I had about a month ago maybe - maybe less (he thinks it was a manic episode) to get myself to the dr's but that it is more likely someone like my mum or friend would have to bring me....So I would say anytime you are having what may potentially be hypo/manic episode always go to the dr's or speak to your psych etc.... before it becomes full blown etc...
Glad you went to dr's and are feeling more relaxed. You may have been experiencing a mixed episode?
You made up your mind to torture mine!
If you read a scar like a book, you will relise the story in which you over look
Retro - yes I take meds but I got so wound up I thought it would be a good idea not to take them for a couple of days. Well we can all see where that ended. Back on them now with a slight increase to bring me back to an even keel. See the doc again in a week.
