just curious, really

My doc is away so i cant ask him for a bit yet, but i will when he returns.
(The doc at his practice covering for him now is insistent i need to restart thorazine...i dont fukking think so!!)
Anyways, im prescribed quetiapine; 2 doses throughout the day (as needed) and the larger dose at bedtime.
Fine and dandy.
Have been off the daytime for...quite awhile, wasnt needed (doc is aware of this).
Well, return of symptoms, so started taking them again...
My questions is, has anyone done similar and found your symptoms (paranoia, auditory hallucinations, anxiety) to INCREASE upon restarting??
I know they wont 'work' straight away, but to make the symptoms worse???
A little confused...
Any help much appreciated :)

Hey maybe you're just "getting worse" naturally andtheir effect hasnt kicked in yet. Not necessarily they are making you worse, if that makes sense?
xx

I hope for nothing. I fear nothing. I am free.

I was going to suggest that as well, give it a few days and see how you are feeling, if you dont feel any better you may have to see somone.

Did you originally start on a lower dose? Sometimes skipping straight up to a high dose of a medicine can spin the body a bit and take a while to settle. Side affects can often include worsening/increase of symptoms such as sui urges and paranoia - worth letting someone know you have these.

That, and as others have said, it may be that they have not got into your system fully yet.

So for hijacking your thread Romp- I was just wondering why you are against Thorazine if you don't mind me asking? It's just that my 'team' want me to give it a go and told me to have a think about it. Thanks x

I should have rephrased, Emma. It did work for me, Im not against the med, more against her insistence that I will "fall apart soon" :\.
I more dont like the idea of it, if that makes sense...?
But, I felt the same the first time lithium was suggested...
Do give it a go, it really helped me thru a terrible patch.
Good luck.

I will try and give it a go (just means trying to 'fight back' the bad destructive part of my brain)

Thanks for replying xx
