i spent an hour grooming one of the rabbits. he probably needs another 15 minutes of cutting mats off of his feet and legs. i hope to finish him tomorrow and then groom the other one.
i wish i had carding brushes so i could spin the fur (i am a spinner, crocheter and knitter) but i don't and won't be able to afford new ones for quite some time. so i plan to sell the wool on ebay.
in other news, my tomato plants are huge and have little tomatoes and lots of blooms. my flowers look AMAZING. so many colors!
the dog stinks and i don't know why as he just had a bath a week ago and i cut the extra fur from around his butt so that he won't get poop-cakes.
they locked me up. they shaved my head. they fed me taco bell.

what kind of rabbit do you have?
mine are angoras, both silvery gray. i love them, and the wool is nice for getting a little extra cash, but it is a pain to keep up with all of that fur!

yes. and if it's a long haired cat, that can be spun into yarn and/or sold for spinning, as well. so can dog hair. (dog hair is called chiengora when it is spun, no idea what cat hair is called). believe it or not folks, there is a marked for this stuff.

Mine is a grey/blue Mini lop. When I brush her she doesn't moult enough for wool though :( maybe one strand each week lol.

i used to have a longhaired buinea pig groomed him for 3hrs a day to keep him show quality, when he retired we used to use clippers round his butt lol!
if you brush their butt regions out so it's straight, you can fold a piece of kitchen towel in half and use it to wrap the hair in, (think highlight foils in a hair salon!) and then when its a long tube of wrapped hair, fold the ends in and secure with a hair bobble.
used to do it with all the long haired guineas to keep em clean.

i don't intentionally let it get knotty. bunnies just tend to get matted in some places and it's hard to keep up with the grooming. don't worry, they are well fed, have a whole ROOM for themselves (we couldn't stand keeping them in cages) and are very much loved. just sometimes we slide on the grooming a bit then have to catch up.

ahh ok ! !:D just I have a bun(magic) and it would make me sad to see him all knotted ... I had a bun(charlie) and he was so so much hard work ! !
my little bun gets the run of my house :D he loves it
hes got to have cage rest atm tho as hes injured himself :(
have u got pics of yours??
how did your rabbit get injured? is he going to be ok?
i wish mine could have the run of the house, but they tend to chew electrical cords and i am afraid they would get hurt.

they are adorable
:D my little magic has paralysed himself from the waist down ... so has to pull himself around on his front legs it kinda funny and sad ....
magic knows not to chew cords even so I have hidden them from him :D
we have tried hiding the cords, putting yucky stuff on them, re-directing the boys, etc. but they are determined to chew cords. for their own safety they now have a bunny room where they can't get to any cords (it doubles as the laundry room, and there aren't many cords there, plus they are easy to block off).
how did your bunny get injured? poor thing.....at least he has a good home where he is loved. that counts for a lot!
