sorry if this is in the wrong bit.

i was just wondering whether cpn's can actually section you or say whether you need to be admitted to hospital.

they are usually linked up with the crisis team and would speak to them regarding admissions.

CPNs cant section but they can probably request a social worker or doctors to assess you for a section.

I am currently:

Some CPN's will be AMHP (Approved Mental Health Practioners) and if this is the case then if they and 2 drs agreed you could be sectioned.

Having said that most would try and get the person to go in voluntarily and a last resort would be to section a patient.

Are you worried you might be sectioned?

Basically they have the links to easily contact dr's etc to get an assessment underway - this has happened to me.

Also what random swirls said about AMHP and the fact they would rather you went in voluntary if they saw the need!
