Adult Services?

I have been referred to them and just wondering people's experiences with them? How often did you see a psych/nurse etc?
Thanks.

I am currently:

It may depend what you've been referred for, but when I saw AS for eating disorder stuff I saw my Psychiatrist one a month (later once every fortnight when things got really bad), a nurse every month for blood tests, and a one-off appointment with a dietitian that I could chose to continue if I wanted to.

When I was first referred from the CAMHS psychologist to the Adult Services psychiatrist, I had a social worker overseeing the transfer. I saw her a few times before I stopped making appointments.

The thing with AS is you have choice. If you don't wanna see them, you don't, if you wanna see a certain branch of treatment worker, you can ask for it. If you wanna, say, move from one person to another you can request that to. YOU work WITH them rather than just being 'treated'.

EDIT: I went to Yorkshire services so I can offer specific area info if you have any Q's.

Imperfection is underrated.

My experience with them has been really good in the last three years. The first six months or so were a bit dodgy but since they've got to know me it's been a lot easier. I mostly see my OT (who does pretty much the same as a CPN) once a week, though I have other support in between.

Will you be staying with EIP as well?

i see a psych whenever meds need reviewing.
care co-ordinator (who's like a CPN but not a nurse) every 2-4 weeks. like NorthernLights', i think she's actually an OT.
i've found them much more helpful than CAMHS, that they listen to what i say more. good luck with them :)

Thanks everyone.
Yeah I'm staying with EIP too.
I was going to go back to CAMHS but I turn 18 in sept and it made sense when I was being discahrged from hosp to go straight to adult services. Espesh as CAMHS didn't help me at all.
