Tattoo/body art/piercing directory?

theres lots of tattoo pics and piercings and what not on this site.

I was wondering if a little thread with a directory of established and trustworthy artist would be a help? Perhaps something regional?

Im looking for a great freehand tattooist and usually the best way to find em is by word of mouth.

I dunno what forum would be best to start one or if it would be allowed or accepted or what?

Perhaps you could just make a thread asking for one within your region? It seems like a lot of effort to go through to get a directory going for each region, when we cover several countries, and for when we're a self harm site.. not a piercing site.

I imagine doing a bit of googling might help bring up that information if you can't find it by asking members here, a piercing forum might even have a wider breadth of people with more knowledge between different piercers.

We do have a thread about piercing advice, Piercing Advice- Read Here :), so I guess if there was such demand, it could go there.

My issue with this is how it would be perceived for a self harm site to provide information on a subject which has very close ties to self harm.

These aren't all negative at all - many ex self harmers use this as a form of therapy as it continues that close relationship between mind and skin.

I am planning that v4 becomes considerably more of a 'life help' site for it's members though. The pressures faced by exams, relationships, jobs and teenage life are very much connected with my people self harm or are finding it harder to stop.

There will also be a few map based directories, split up by region for various things. In time as we develop the 'life help' side of things perhaps this sort of info could be considered for inclusion alongside advice and guidance.

On bodyjewelleryshop they have a directory with peoples comments for piercings and tattoos. Loads of them around, just takes time to hunt out the most up to date reviews of places.

Have you tried looking through the piercing threads? (Y'know, the two silly long ones) I know people have mentioned who/where in them.
