I'm going to be applying for Uni soon, hopefully. Well, for 2008.
I was just wondering where you lovely people go and would you recommend it???
I'm in the UK.
I went to a teacher training college affiliated to Hull Uni. One year of the course was spent at Hull Uni doing our focus subject. Mine was English. It was great because I could get away with focusing completely on 20th Century Lit. Not the case if you did a full degree there over 3 years though. The accommodation, both in Lincoln and Hull were pretty good, where I was, anyway.
I finished at UWE this year, most people have never even heard of it and it's not the best of unis but it's one of the best for the course I wanted to do. I absolutely loved it there, had an amazing time and am rather dissapointed to not be going back in Sept!
Hopefully:
Edinburgh, if I can risk revealing my extenuating circumstances of the past 2 years
Penisula medical school (universities of Exeter and Plymouth)
Hull-York Medical School
Bristol

i'm at st martins at the lancaster campus ... oh no its called university of cumbria now hehe!!! its ace!!! lancaster uni looks a bit like a prison as you drive past it up never been so wont say it rubbish (but mine is better mwahahahahahaa)!!!

I went to the University of Edinburgh to study Social Anthropology and then left and went to Nottingham Uni to do American Studies - both were fantastic

In loving memory of Alison.... I'll never know what it was like to be her. But i know what it's like to wanna die. How it hurts to smile. How you try to fit in but you can't. How you hurt yourself on the outside to try and kill the the thing on the inside" Girl Interrupted
I'm hopefully going to Manchester.
Fab university. The student life is great, the care is brill - both the pastoral during uni, and the job-finding help after you've finished.
Also, it's got a really good reputation, both with employers and other universities.
The other one I'm hoping for is York. It's not as party-esque, but it's an older institution, very well recognised, and absolutely beautiful :)
It could be worth looking through the league tables, or the good university guide - these are often great at giving ideas of what universities are well-recognised, and for what.
