Image Heavy - 45 Vintage "space age" illustrations

As a child, I truly believed that at this point in my life I would be living in a space-dome community with a flying car and a robot maid. I can even remember the utter disappointment of realizing that most of the things I read in my dad’s back issues of Popular Science magazine would never see the light of day.
Until we all are living in outer space with flying automobiles and robot servants, we can pass the time with these 45 vintage illustrations of a space age tomorrow. Hopefully these beautiful and creative works of art won’t bring back too many childhood disappointments.
Don’t worry, you’ll get your jetpack someday.

I must admit, quite often do I find myself sitting on a wooden horse which is, itself, mounted on a surfboard that has an engine attached to the back of it, and all the while playing polo in the water.

Definitely space age today.

I believe it was either going to be an article on either a flying car, so you'll never fall off the top of a building again (don't you just hate it when that happens? )
Or it'll be an article on a self driving car so you'll never drive off the top of buildings again.

Hahaha, awesome.

Although to be fair to them. We do have solar heated houses now, and wristwatch TV... Maybe not, but an iPod is basically just that.
So this cover wasn't too far off.

And the fishing one looks to me, basically like a wii. The guy is playing some vague early vision of a fishing video game.

classic 60s look at tomorrow

Then wear the gold hat, if that will move her;
If you can bounce high, bounce for her too,
Till she cry "Lover, gold-hatted, high-bouncing lover,
I must have you!"

lulz

and yeah, a heck of a lot of them have been done.
The fishing one, looks a little like a wii game
The cars on water? duck bus maybe?
boat with propellers? Hovercraft.
Bike with ball wheels on the water? I rode one of them about 10 years ago in france.
Boat with a music system in the boot? Even been to St Tropez lol

However, what is more unbelievable, is that you could buy a color magazine for 15c you cant even get a newspaper for that now.
