Not sure if this is even supposed to be possible, but I started feeling the effects of Venlafaxine just 20 minutes after taking the first dose, Their amazing, No more intrusive thoughts, & increased senses including Awareness, I'm more Alert & able to concentrate better. So far so good Venlafaxine is my friend I just hope these don't start to wear off like some of the other medications I've had, maybe others who take or who have previously taken these might know. It feels so great to be able to listen to music again with a clear head & no intrusive thoughts instead of listening to only 10 -15 minutes of music I'm now back to being able to listen to an hour at a time. Loving this feeling
Well so far there is no sign of them wearing off, I still feel great However I do have a few minor side effects Profuse Sweating/Feel Constantly Hot, Mouth Ulcers & a Sore Tongue Any Suggestions to help with the Mouth Ulcers & Sore Tongue? The Sweating doesn't bother me I have a cold shower, & always carry a fan, this is still by far the best medication I have ever had
I was on venlafaxine, I got bad side effects of sweating during my sleep even though I am constantly cold and even more vivid dreams than usual. It also made me feel less real (I think I have depersonalisation disorder) and it made it so much worse. I got no positive effects from it so was taken off them.
Glad to hear they're working for you though :)
Try bonjela for mouth ulcers :) and mention these to your doctor, they might be able to do something for you
I tried to be perfect but nothing was worth it
I don't believe it makes me real
I have a doctors appointment at 16:10 so will discuss my side effects although am dreading it as am worried he will stop treatment as the Vaginal Bleeding is gradually getting worse, although the mouth ulcers & sore tongue are clearing, I still profusely sweat but that isn't a problem, I really like these meds & they are helping, the vaginal bleeding isn't really much & isn't problematic so am hoping that I can continue my treatment
PM me if you want a PDF copy of the ICD-10or the Mental Health Act 1983/2007. I ALSO HAVE THE DSM-V BOOK and am a pharmacology student.
I have a visual impairment / neurological problems so I need people to type in clear text and no funny fonts. Also excuse any typos, my vision blocks things out.
I have autism and have problems communicating, PMs included.
Just becasue I type well doesn't mean I speak well. I am only part time verbal.
Well my appointment went well, I explained everything & have been allowed to continue treatment thankfully, I'm still feeling ok although feel a little lonely today & am unable to sleep, feeling anxious, am thinking of taking a few Promazine hopefully they'll help with the anxiety & help me to relax enough to get some sleep & hopefully I'll feel a little better in the morning
hmm if they work that fast on you, keep an eye out for manic symptoms and serotonin syndrome.
Effexor, is one of the stronger anti depressants, so if they work so quick you have to be weary that they are not to strong for you.
That's awesome that they are working for you so well! I am like the queen of mouth ulcers. Think the worst I've had is 9 at once or one the size of a 5p right near the back of my mouth. Anyways, best thing is to use bonjela to help numb them. Also if you're in the UK (or maybe get it off the internet) there's an amazing gel called iglu. It works really well. If not, ask your dr for adcortyl (think thats how you spell it). Salt water mouth washes are goodm but if you buy an antiseptic one its better. The one I favour is eludril. Tastes mildly less horrific then the others.
Hope that helps and that meds carry on working!
x
And you're my obsession, I love you to the bones...
Rinstead Pastilles are great also I've started using Frador for my mouth ulcers felt great after a good nights sleep, & the vaginal bleeding has stopped so think I'm safe for the time being, although as was said be carefull about manic feelings, & serotonin syndrome, thanks I'm being carefull & my GP is monitoring me closely & taking bloods every month. The sweating has also calmed down a little although i do still carry a handheld fan
I'm glad you feel they are helping!!
As said if you do experience manic symptoms perhaps it is the dosage that would need changing and not the medication itself.
Well after seeing my GP for my monthly checkup I know my blood pressure is a little high but nothing abnormal, although I'm feeling lonely again today & a little more depressed than I have in a while, I'm still having trouble sleeping & the severe sweat's have returned, I'm persevering with my meds & haven't forgotten to take a dose yet & assume that's a good sign.
I have my fingers crossed that I'll start feeling better soon & start leveling off slightly, maybe when I'm under less pressure with family issues & finances.
I'm gonna take a couple of Promazine again tonight maybe it'll help calm my anxiety, I really hope I can get through this without needing to up the dosage of my meds as I dread having to do that as the side effects will tend to return more severely.
If things don't improve I'd like to know how long I should give it before asking for an increase in my dosage, any advice appreciated, thanks

i had problems with effexor, evetually the dose was reduced and i was ok.
theres a really good mouth wash for mouth ulcers i used to use, though it tastes terrible. corsidryl or corsodyl or something similar.
for delicate were the moths and badly wanted
here in a world by mammoth figures haunted!
Um I'm not sure if it is a side effect but I have severe heartburn tonight, has anyone else had heartburn while taking these it's 1 am & I'm too tired to read the leaflet my eyes are sore but I can't sleep I can barely write this message, thanks
Hi little bit better but still have heartburn, have set my friend up an account here too, she's very depressed & little anxious, she doesn't SI/SH but thought she'd benefit from the support, if she does decide to use her account it's nadineevs93 so please make her welcome, she's my best friend, thanks
