Triggering (SI) - Finally going docs and in need of a bit of advice
Okay, so I'm in a bit of a pickle...
I've finally managed to get a doctors appointment after putting up with everything for too long. Anyway, I was told by my tutor to do the Goldberg's test....so I did and I was then told to tell the Doc about that once I get an appointment...
My problem is I'm petrified and I have no idea what to say to them/how to go about it. Sorry if this thread is a bit of a waste, I'm just really worried about what's going to happen and such.
Do I tell them about the SI and other things? I'm just so worried/confused.
Also, apologies if the label is wrong - I'm still getting the hang of the site >.<!
I hope you don't mind me posting.. xxx

i think telling them about the SI and other things would be a good move. the doctor is there to help you so you should tell them as much as you feel comfortable with so they're in the best position to do that. if you would find it easier to write soemthing down for them, taht would be fine too, often i find that easier. first appointments are hard but maybe something like "i've been feeling -this- and to cope with it i've been doing -this-" would be a start?

Thankyou Tamobhuuta :). I'm bricking it I really am, but I've tried writing it down and if I get it properly written down and take it in then that may work. I'm just never good with going the docs for anything, they're so scary!! >.<

Thankyou Sarah :) I got the appointment for the 8th May so I've got a week and a bit to write stuff down etc. It's a different doctor to what I usually have, too, so maybe she'll be nice to me! I'm going on my own too, I really don't want my Mother to know some of the things to be fair :/

Don't be worried or scared!! *Hugs*
Hey, well done for finally making a doctors appointment! I am so proud of you. I did the Goldberg's test.. I do it every year LOL quite a few times and always get really high.. like 80-90% :S
So have you told your doctor what you got on the test? What you can do.. is print the page off that your test results were on.. and show your doctor it :)
Don't be scared honey.. there not going to eat you alive or anything. Don't worry. No thread is a waste :) And if you honestly thought it was a waste you would of deleted it.. so you obviously feel like it is important and that you really need some help/advice of what you should do.
Can I ask what you think is going to happen.. if you tell your doctor your test results?
Yes tell them about your SI & other things. Don't be worried - there is nothing to worry about!! *Hugs* No one in the world minds you posting honey.. that's what this whole website is about.. support, help.. advice :)
I hope everything goes well.. please reply a wee post of what I asked you though.. I just want to know why you are so scared! xxxx

Hey, thanks so much for the reply :) I've not told them yet, my mum knows about the test I took and that's how I got the appointment (she made it lol) so I'm going to tell them when I go. As for being scared, I think it's because I went to see my aunt in the special unit when she was dying and since then I've hated doctors, hospitals etc :/. I think it's also the waiting room....the atmosphere and such.
Again, thanks for all the replies :) xxx
