Counselling advice

I'm seeing my counsellor tomorrow... I think last time I saw her she said something about bringing someone else in a session, don't know if it'll be a psychiatrist or another counsellor... Any ideas? She did say that's going to arrange an appointment with a psychiatrist for me at some point...
Last time I saw her she asked me what I wanted to change... WTF... I have depression, of course I'm going to want to change something. I think because there's so much going on with me that she's thinking CBT won't work... Well, it hasn't really worked...
What other methods could they try? I'm not too sure...

research by a big up therapist, Bessel van der Kolk (American psychologist), found that over 1.5yrs only EMDR made a significant change for depression (compared to antidepressants, CBT and no treatment at all)

CBT can be really helpful so long as its used in conjunction with a range of other approaches that a therapist has had training in. on its own, my experience is that it sucks

more than anything else, its the therapist doing the work with you that can make a real difference - if you can trust them, relate to them, feel safe and feel ok about being challenged (not humiliated or like they're playing games)
