Return to work tax credits and work tax credits

Has anyone got any information on this kind of thing. A friend of my mums has been telling me for ages that I can claim working tax credits should I get a job.

Ive been on income support for quite a few years and disabilty living allowance for the last year.

It seems likely that I will be offered a job in the next few coming weeks.

Does anyone know if I am able to claim return to work tax credits and working tax credits.

Ive look on in the inland revenue website, but its a bit confusing. Im wondering if I should ring up my local job centre and speak to the disabilty advisor.

Also if I start work does that mean my disability living allowance will be stopped?

Thanks

i know job seekers get a bonus when they return to work if they are on a certain new deal package for long term unemployed.

as for tax credits, if you filled in the calculator as if you had the job you can see if you would get anything. mand x

Your DLA won't be stopped automatically as it is unrelated to working and income - and will help you with what you are entitled to in regard to tax credits. Working may trigger a reassessment of your entitlement but you won't automatically lose it just because you have a job.

I worked for over two years, full time and recieved DLA without any problem at all. I applied when working and was able to arrange care/support needed at work, according to my needs on the form (which were physical not mental) You will need to make sure any work you do won't be in conflict with your original DLA application.

CAB/Disability advisor can advise on other things as well like return to work bonuses (whatever they are called these days!!) and also access to work as well.
