So hey, I have this horrible thing wrong with me, probably for years. But I'm too embarrassed to go to my local doctor. I KNOW, I'll go on national TV and reveal that embarrassing thing in front of a 2 million strong audience.
Seriously, what are these people thinking?

I say the same thing every time this topic comes up. Obviously it makes much more sense to go on national TV with a problem you were too scared/embarrassed to go to a GP about. The TV cameras and possibility of it being nationally broadcast must be a calming factor.
Ewwwww......did anyone see the piles....? Totally agree with the thing about why would you go on TV about something so embarassing??!! The strange thing about it is its compulsive viewing!!
My friend was on the one just on today.
She went on about OCD.
She went on to raise awareness. Though she'd never go on with something like piles D:

I saw her.
Tell her she was wonderful. Brave. And informative.

my guess is cause they get money and private treatment.
I was saying the same thing to my mum, infact I believe there is a facebook group about this same thing too.
Although I don't quiet get it. If I had mouldy feet or some embarrasing allinement I wouldn't go to the doctors about it let alone TV but, I guess it raises awareness and makes viewers at home feel more at ease if they have any of the problems mentioned so that they then go to the doctors.
Though I doubt that happens that often.
