Part of a poem (unfinished).
I've only written the first two parts, and it's absolute rubbish, but I wanted to post it before I lost inspiration.
Under Cover Of Darkness
Look at me.
God, no - not like this.
Turn the light off, and look again.
Look at my eyes.
Dull as ditchwater until night;
Then see, reflected in them,
The fireworks. Unblinking,
I'll keep their image there -
Hold that spray of colour, like glowing jewels
Or burning beads - to colour your skies
In lilac and gold, if you like.
And I'll blame their coloured lights
For the way my eyes are glistening,
To spare you the guilt of seeing me crying for you.
Now my hands.
Ugly, scarred - until darkness falls.
Hidden from sight, from the rest,
They can be pale beacons
If you should reach for me.
They'll hold what you tell them, do as you wish;
And gently trace the constellations,
In secret, onto your skin.
And if you tell me to stop,
They will, and carry my heart with me
To save you the puzzle of what to do with it now.

Reason: Grammar.
