Triggering (SI/Substance abuse) - Royally fed up
I haven't drunk any Alcohol since 9th april 2008 but since last November I've been really down , my self injury has gotten out of control and I just can't take itmuch longer . I am on Antabuse which is a med to react bdly with alcohol and makes you very sick and can be very serious . I've gone out this afternoon and bought 2 bottles of red wine , I just need somthing to numb me to take away how flat I feel all the time .I'm seriously considering stopping taking the Antabuse .I know if I drink I will let a lot of people down and I do see my substance misuse worker on tuesday and my psychiatrist on Thursday for the first time since before Christmas .I've just run out of ideas . I am perscribbed Diazapam but my new G.P. keeps refusing to prescibe me any sothat coping mechanism has been taken away from me too . I feel rotten . Sorry to rant .

Hey hunny. Sorry to hear that you are feeling so bad at the moment. Do you know what it is thats making you feel this way? If so maybe you could dicuss it on here.
You are doing really well with the alcohol, you have gone a very long time. Could you perhaps pour the wine down the drain or dispose of it so that you cant drink it??

I went to AA but got mightily bored mightily quickly. I'm in a room full of drunks, I want to hear all the gory details, ie. how long was you in the cell, what colour blouse did your brief have on?
Did nothing for me. Just annoyed me & made me want a right good drink.

I'm feeling a LOT better , I still have the booze in the flat , I guess I view it as some kind of comfort blanket , but I know I can't drink it because of the Antabuse and I'm in a much better place mentally , I just hope that I can get the extra Anti-depressant dose that I'm prescribed but isn't on the system , gah! Before this would have toataly freaked me out , now I'm freaking out at a much slower rate sorry this got off topic :S
