Lush cosmetics recruitment event

Hello all,

I have been invited to a lush recruitment event on Monday. Just wondering what I should probably wear really as it is quite casual in their shops.

Staff tend to wear jeans etc and there doesn't seem to be any uniform as such.

I guess they like people to just be themselves.

Any ideas/tips?

I would say go with smart casual, best to make a good impression before you dress down.
Maybe some black pants and some type of top?

I agree - smart casual is the way forwards if you are unsure about dress!
Black trousers and a reasonably smart top are good

There are, it has been said, two types of people in the world. There are those who, when presented with a glass that is exactly half full, say: 'This glass is half full'. And then there are those who say: 'This glass is half empty'.
The world belongs, however, to those who can look at the glass and say: 'What's up with this glass? Excuse me? Excuse me? This is my glass? I don't think so. My glass was full! And it was a bigger glass!

Smart casual, Black trousers and a nice top I'd say! good luck!

Our lush stinks too. It's next to a starbucks which is next to mcdonnalds so it's like a mix of perfume, coffee and burgers mingled together! And also our lush store seems to always have it's door open!

I used to work in a lush - great times (well the after work drinking sessions!) It is really relaxed, black and white was the 'uniform' but who you are is better than anything else - an you get used to the smell after a while!!

I hate the smell too. Think I've only been in there once with my sister and it gave me a headache. I've been into a similar kind of shop that was a small independent place in a garden centre just outside of a little village near me. Took the dog in as you do around there and he was literally crying and was fine as soon as we took him back outside and he was fine in all the other shops there which were more crowded so all we could equate it too was the smells being waaaaay too strong for him; just getting him through the door (which was shut) was a hard and I don't remember that one smelling as much as Lush.

But yeah, smart casual is probably about right.

I like Lush...in Dublin it's still got that infamous smell but I mean they have great products if ya can just ignore the robust smell and focus on one they tend to be great. Also lush staff seem to be pretty eccentric and overly friendly-you should wear whatever you think suits your personallity, they tend to look for that in people-my friend got her job there when she was wearing odd knee high socks with a completely clashing skirt, a big giant hoody and her converse...it was a couple of years ago but she still has a relatively quirky style in comparison to what would be expected of someone who's 20! In short wear what you're most comfortable in!
