how long are you usually on the meds before until they are changed again? (some meds can take up to 6 weeks to actually start working)
I'm sorry you are going through this, do you feel comfortable with your dr that your seeing?

i have had this problem.. i was on citalopram and changed to sertraline .. i have tried 4 different ones and they either had no affect or made me go kinda crazy like..
like ^^ lozza asked are you comfortable with your doctor? i went through so many doctors till i found one that i feel comfortable and she is now tryin to help me..
if you aren't comfy maybe try another doctor if u are then express ur feelings about it to him/her.. u may have to be pushy cos doctors dont seem to care like they should these days! xx
hope it gets better for you xxx
Take care xx

You shouldnt be changing like that.
Yes it can take a while to find the right med, but you shouldnt be stopping and anti depresseant (citalopram, sertraline) for a sleeping tablet (zopiclone, zolpidem).
The sleeping tablet should deal with the insomnia, but you will need the anti depressant to deal with the underlying issues as well.

Sometimes it can take time to gel with the right med but if the changes are happening really quickly then it isn't going to work.
Do you think you could talk to your Dr about all of this?

Have you asked them about counseling or some kind of therapy if you're not already getting that? Because if they're going to keep swapping your meds like that they need to support you at the same time x

Sometimes medication isn't the answer, but it's the easiest one for the doctors. Ask for alternative options. Make them work to help you rather than just palming you off with prescriptions.

Stop thinking about what I want, what he wants, what your parents want. What do you want?

It is a long road to find the right meds but you will get there eventually. I have been on
Citalopram
fluoxetine
nortriptyline
Dothiepin Mirtazepine
Lithium
Lamotrigine
Sodium Valporate Venlafaxine Temazepam Nitrazepam Lormetazepam Lorazepam Zopiclone Olanzapine Risperidone Clozapine Oxazepam Phenalzine Miclobemide Aropax Trimipramine
All of these over the past 6 years and only really have just found a combination that works for me. Dont give up
