headache from banging head on wall

I was really upset earlier, and banged the back of my head repeatedly on the wall. I've done this several times in the last week or so.
I now have a bad headache. But at the front of my head.
Is it anything I should worry about?

I am currently:

I'm not a first aid adviser, but I think that could be dangerous cause if you hit it hard enough you might have gotten a concussion.

If I were you, I'd go see a doctor to get it checked out. Especially if you get dizzy or anything like that.

*hugs* I really hope you're alright Katie.

Yeah especially if it's hurting in a different part of your head that could be a bad sign. I know when I've done that it generally hurt where I hit it. Did you black out at all? Are you getting dizzy? I do think it'd be worth going in for. If it is a concussion they are treatable but need to be treated asap.

Yeah, I agree with the others.
You may have concussion or something, it might be wise to get it checked out.
Take care xx

No dizziness, and no real headache this morning. Will keep an eye out though, thanks.

Yes, if you do this continuously it will have the ability to cause concussion, or even once if you're not careful. It can also cause inflammation in your head, even if just your skin and that in itself will hurt but really what you're probably seeing is the first signs of concussion. Can you try and stop doing this? Try hitting your mattress and things and see if that helps or banging your head against it.

I'll do my best to hold off when the urge comes on, thanks Kim. It's from a combination of a child state that has a rather severe attachment disorder, as well as borderline-autstic traits. Very hard to handle, especially when my adult state tends to go into freeze mode when child state etc is in front....

I had a headache this afternoon. It didn't come on though until I was at work. My head did feel kind of bruised inside a little but that may have partly been an emotional sensation too. I'm wondering if it was mainly from the cold weather, as it didn't come on again until the afternoon?

I have a GP appointment on Friday afternoon anyway [and am seeing my homeopath on Wednesday]. Do you think I'll be ok until then? There's no dizziness.
What is the treatment for mild concussion? Could I have caused any long term damage?

Thanks..

Yep, you should be fine. At this moment in time I don't think you have anything to worry about though if you start getting severe headaches/ dizziness/ feeling nauseas or vomitting/ suddenly very tired or faint for no known reason (don't fall to sleep) double vision/ feeling disorientated and/or confused then you do need to get checked out straight away which ideally would be at hospital or if you could get an appointment with your doctors straight away as an emergency type situation. And at this point I do not feel you've suffered long term damage. Typically each time you bang your head you do damage some brain cells but that is the same with everything really. The trouble becomes when it's more severe and could lead to a bleed in the brain (a brain haemorrhage) or 'bruising'/ swelling to it which is what causes the severe damage. If you get proper concussion you will know about it, trust me. If you ever 'lose time' or faint/ whatever after then you also need to get checked out straight away. If you have no-one to take you then call a taxi/ 999, public transport wouldn't be a good idea. Really though, each time you could do yourself more damage and it will swell a tiny bit each time and these could all add up to mean bigger problems.

i didnt know there was much treatment for concusion. i guess theyd do a head CT and just keep an eye on you. if u dont feel sick or dizzy then im sure u were fine. i suppose if u repeatedly bang ur head against a wall u will get a headache. hope ur feeling better now!
