Script Frenzy, Anyone?

I'm not sure how many people here participate in or even know about National Novel Writing Month (http://www.nanowrimo.org/), but the same group is also running Script Frenzy (http://www.scriptfrenzy.org/eng/node) for the first time next month.

I participate in NaNoWriMo, and will be doing Script Frenzy this year. I've found that it can be a great way to make yourself really focus and sit down and do something you set your mind to. And it's all about writing and meeting goals, rather than writing something amazing - it's writing for the love of writing. And meeting that goal can be quite the mood booster!

So, any other RYLers out there joining in or already signed up?

I only just read this post - sounds interesting, unfortunatey I am no good at writing. Maybe I could do be a voice for your script =P

Good luck with it though. Did you post it on V2 as well?

Nope, didn't post it on V.2, although I probably should. I was hoping to get a few more posts going here as well - the more the merrier, right?

Back on topic, if you're concerned about not being able to write but want to write, this is actually a really good event. With both SF and NaNoWriMo, the emphasis is on writing for the love of it; no editing, no self-criticism, no focusing on the negatives, just writing. For me, it has actually been a big help in recovery, because it forces me to focus on something positive. And it's a great feeling to set a goal and then reach it when all is said and done.

It definately sounds positive and like a good thing! You should spam about it on V2 and we should poke other V3 members to read.

Good idea to post about it =) I may investigate about them further when my exams are over =) Thank you x

Thanks for the encouragement. ^_^ I did post it on V.2 and it promptly fell to the bottom of the page, lol.

Jeez, writing a short story is one thing, but a screenplay?

I really want to get involved, but I'm such a perfectionist. I'd probably throw a fit half way through and refuse to carry on.

Isn’t it funny how day by day nothing changes but when you look back, everything is different…

Dammit! I'm going to sign up and give it a go.

Dammit. It's too good to let it pass.

When you break it down, it's 667 words a day for Script Frenzy and 1667 a day for NaNoWriMo. That's not too much, is it?

control freak, good for you!! Seriously, it's so much fun, especially if you can get on the forums and get hooked up with other people in your area. Hanging out in a coffee shop with pens, paper and laptops and writing is hilarious. ^_^
