Prozac *possibly triggering*

A couple of months ago I was prescribed prozac for my depression. I noticed I was easier to be around, I was easier going, less easily upset. But then recently things have gone down hill. I've had strong self harm urges (and gave in eventually) and wreckless thoughts.

I just want to know if anybody else has taken or is taking prozac and if they've experienced this kind of thing. Does it mean my medication isn't working, even though initially I noticed positive changes?

I was on prozac for a year, I think the technical name is Fluoxetine, thats what I was told anyway.

I had a period where I went on the path of self destruction too, so at that point they put me on Risperidone too, I'm not actually sure because it didn't work, it stopped the voices though. In the end they upped my doseage, and I felt better, more calm.

Could you maybe talk to your GP about it?

-hugs-

:/ I was on prozac but only for a month. They took me off because it was actually swelling my glands or something, I was having a time breathing I guess, hah. I did have some thoughts though, early on when I started taking it but it never made me feel okay. I'm on zoloft now and apart from the breathing well thing it doesn't help much. I guess it just takes time in finding what medicine what works for you. Hope you get to feeling better. Take care.--Britt

Yeah, it makes you feel abit weird when you 1st start taking them, because like, its your body getting used to it or something. But yeah, talking to your GP about different medicines is useful :)x
