my psych didn't refer me

Last week i found out that my psych hadn't refered me for CBT like he said he would, so i've been waiting 4 months for an appointment that was never going to come.

I think i've figured out why he didn't refer me, it's because i don't deserve help. I'm a selfish cow i keep dumping all my pathetic insignificant problems on other people who all have far more important problems of their own to worry about.

Is it possible to ask him why he didn't refer you?
Perhaps he does have a reason...but you should have been told this long ago.

No he never said anything to me. When i saw him in August he said he would refer me to the short term team and someone would be in touch as soon as possible. I mentioned to the GP last week that i'd not heard anything so she chased him up and he told her he wasn't going to do anything till after he'd seen me in December. So now i don't know what's happening.

I'd make it clear how upset you are when you see him and ask him why. I know that I'd personally find it difficult to trust him again. He needs to know that there are consequences to his actions, so he thinks more carefully about it next time.

perhaps right now he doesnt feel you are ready for it.

you need to speak to your psych to find out the reason why he decided to wait and see what help he can offer you right now
