I need advice

Okay, so I think I need a therapist or something because I want to stop SI-ing and I need help but I have no idea where to start. Should I go to my doctor and mention it? I have a doctor's appointment coming up so I was just wondering what to do

I don't know about Canada, but in the UK all you have to do is mention it to your GP and they'll sort out referals through the NHS. So yeah, talk to your doctor, and see what they can offer you.

Yeah here in the U.S. you mention it to your doctor. They should be able to refer you to a counselor/psychiatrist. I think it's great you're looking for help!

Yeah, speaking to your doctor is the first step. He may want to monitor you himself or he may refer you on to more specialist people.

It's great you are taking this step.

Remember you can always write down the things you want to say so you dont forget when you get in there.
