olanzapine
I was just wondering your experiences with olanzapine. I think they are giving me placebos. I'm on 15mg at the moment and its going up to 20mg soon but I'm sure they are sugar pills, if you have taken it did it make you drowsy? I have no appetite and my sleep is crap. Last time I was on it I had increased appetite and I was tired all the time and that was at 10mg.

I started taking it yesterday. My psych thinks I have psychosis but I don't think so. Wierd things do keep happening to me but they are real, it's just people don't believe me. I am VERY confused though and he said the tablets will help with the confusion.
So I took one yesterday (I think, I'm not entirely sure either that I'm being given the right tablets. There's some people who are messing with my other meds to make me confused...). Anyway, it knocked me out and this is at 5mg.
I took it, and regretted it and paniced... but I didn't sick it back up like I wanted to, I kept it down. Then everything went quite dark and I was sooo tired and fell asleep. I had a brilliant night's sleep (unusual for me) and really struggled to get up this morning. The whole morning I was very woozy. My fast thoughts weren't there though, which was nice, but I was very sleepy still. Then this afternoon the tablet seemed to wear off around 3pm and I went quite manic.
You say you think they're giving you placebos. When you got the prescription if it said Olanzapine on it, then it's highly unlikely it's anything else you've been given. Do you think they're placebos because you don't feel any different? Maybe you should tell that to whoever prescribed them to you? Could they give you a new prescription if you don't trust the pills you've already got?

When I took it I had a huge appetite and slept loads, felt like a zombie, no emotions etc.
You may be reacting to it differently because your mental state is different to when you last took it.

I have no increased appetite with it. The dr said that it was due to increased symptoms why its not making me drowsy but I thought it would at least increase my appetite. I don't think they are real. They're placebos.

No, your doctor basically said the same thing I did. Because your symptoms have increased, some of the side effects aren't happening. Lack of appetite due to your mental state is most likely overriding the side effect of increased appetite. They won't be giving you placebos.

I'm on 5mg and I feel fine. Maybe a little drowsy.

Isn’t it funny how day by day nothing changes but when you look back, everything is different…

I had tiredness and lethargy.
However after being on olanzapne for a year, the pills just stopped working. I've had tiredness on 10mg but after a year I was on 25mg and I barely slept!
I had to change meds because I relapsed while on 25mg.

PM me if you want a PDF copy of the ICD-10 or the Mental Health Act 1983/2007. I ALSO HAVE THE DSM-V BOOK and am a pharmacology student.
I have a visual impairment / neurological problems so I need people to type in clear text and no funny fonts. Also excuse any typos, my vision blocks things out.
I have autism and have problems communicating, PMs included.
Just becasue I type well doesn't mean I speak well. I am only part time verbal.
