Yay spiders!!!

Sooooo

I have a tarantula.. A pretty Chilean rose hair.. Whom I have had since my sixth birthday.
Now, Sid (said spider) used to come to school with me... A lot.. in my early days, show and tell, science learning ect..
And now next Monday, my son's kindergarden class is learning about spiders... And Blaze is going to bring Sid in!!!

Nothing TOO spectacular I just thought how cool it was that something can run full circle like that!!

That's cute!! I spider-sat a Chilean Rose once. I had her for about 4 months and she was SO pretty! I barely handled her though, I was too scared of dropping her and seeing as she wasn't mine....

I have a snake which will probably be with us when my son is well into his teens and beyond :)

I'm terrified of spiders, but there's something amazing about Tarantulas. I like the word. And the song.

the spider i had since i was 4 .. called scary (i was six.. i wasnt a very imaginative child) but anyway.. died a few months ago =[

i have 5 tarantulas now though.. spiders! =D

a LONG time. the females anyway, 16 years easy, but up to about 20, if kept right then ages =]

Yeah, they can live pretty long..
Sid is now 17, and going strong!!! She is a scardy spider though.. If we buy crickets that are too big for her, she hides in her log from them until they die of old age XD So sweet!!!

I think it's going to be hard on me when she does go though :( she is the one pet I have had the longest!!!

i have a goliath spider now =D shes a viscious little cow.. they grow to the size of dinner plates.. beautiful ^.^

the thought of a spider that size terrfies me, id have a heart attack if i ever saw one. But im glad you like them.

Actually, im VERY afraid of spiders!!

But the fact I got Sid so young, and the fact that she IS big helps.. She doesnt move quite as fast as some of the other spiders.. she doesnt JUMP like the wolf spiders in my basement... and she cant... she isn't small enough to like crawl into my nose or mouth or anything *shudder* that's what REALLY gets me!!! <3

One of the pet stores I got visit a bunch, one of their OWN pets they keep there is a pink toe goliath!! SO PRETTEH!!!

I do think house spiders are scarier than tarantula, ive never held one mind, but ive saw them up close and havent ran away screeming (which is usually what happens heh)

But it would be good for little kids to handle spiders and get used to them so they arnt so afraid of them when they grow up.

honestly, holding a spider doesnt feel like much, it feels like 8 little spats on your hand. they barely move anywhere and they dont weigh anything either, its great, you should try it atleast once =]
