On the rare occasions I use the landline at home, I still go to dial '9' first for an outside line despite not having been in work for quite some time now.

I've done that too. Plus, I get what I'm supposed to say all garbled. I'm supposed to say "Paws Here, Ros speaking," when I answer the work phone, but half the time I say, "Ros here, Paws speaking." No one notices!

Tbh, when I phone places I never listen to whatever the person on the other end reels off because I'm too busy thinking about what I'm going say when they've finished.
