Lol, I know! That's what I'm like, even though I know it's not, but that's because I watch too many horror movies. And it would fit perfectly since I found it at a thrift store for $.99
Ok. I had a look at runes, which at first glance, I thought they might be, now I'm not convinced. I'm certain it's something similar to that, though not 100% sure what
The thing in the middle is a fish, which is a representation of Christ. Over it is a crown, signifying his leadership, and underneath it is a cross, signifying his sacrifice. The little dots off the tail of the fish are Christ's blood falling for us, on the earth/cross below. He fish is pointing down to represent Christ being sent down to earth. The crooks on the bars that form the cross are like shepherds' staffs as Christ was seen as a shepherd of humans (Bishops' croziers also take this shape)
And they aren't runes. It's a diagram.

I think the symbol in the middle is very similar to the Libra symbol with the scales.The rest is so abstract it could represent anything .It seems that the design has been developed to the point as to which a person couldnt possibly recognise representational things within it .As you got in a thrift store it adds a certain enigma to the piece ,the origin of which you couldnt possibly know.Intriguing .
