I was talking to Mikeeee, about whether I'd ever leave RYL. I mean I know I won't stay on her forever but I was wondering what reason would make me want to leave, and then I wondered about you guys, so yeah.
I thought maybe I'd leave if all the people I'm close to on the site left...but then maybe I'd leave if I just didn't need the site anymore, but then again I like to help people on here, give hugs and advice when I can so will I ever leave if I want to continue doing that? I don't know.
To be honest, I wouldnt give a reason, i'd just go without telling anyone. No fuss, site carries on as normal, everyones happy.
The advice I give out to people tends to be over PM, as I only tend to give it to those I know will actually take the advice instead of letting it in one ear and out of the other without so much as thinking how it could benefit them. That wouldnt bother me too much either if I left.
I think I would leave if I felt that RYL wasn't helping me anymore, and that I needed to leave to be able to get any further with recovering.
Now I'll play your ghost as my ace, whenever I'm led astray.
But I am actually good, can't help it if we're tilted.
I'm in my right place, don't be a downer.
I picked "to recover i.e. to avoid triggers etc" because I really think that it would be the only reason I would leave. I don't very often post for support here any more, but I usually know that I can if I need to. But this place still supports me better than anything else. I'm usually found in fun & distractions and general. But these two boards really help keep me safe.
I left for a while because I grew away from here. Now I'm back with a new perspective. I had to face honestly my self-destructiveness without being surrounded by an online community of folks who self-destruct. I'm stronger and more real with myself now, and so I'm back to give what I can from where I am now.
Probably when I've recovered enough to have a schedule jam-packed full of activities! Like hopefully in the future I'll have a full time job, friends to go out with, hobbies or evening classes or volunteering to do. I still don't think I'd "leave" leave, just gradually spend less and less time here. Though I doubt that'll happen any time soon.
Most of my friends from RYL were on v2 and they've all left, yet I'm still here.
I left RYL for six months when I was sectioned, though that was partly due to the fact I couldnt get on a computer.
I suppose I'll leave once I'm fully recovered and dont need to come on here anymore, although I rarely post for support anyway. I guess once I'm in college / at uni / have a job and have moved on with my life I wont need this place anymore.
Isn’t it funny how day by day nothing changes but when you look back, everything is different…
you once called your brain a hard drive, well say hello to the virus.
Well my view is that i'd never actually 'leave' as in dissapear suddenly but i'd rather just let it fade away. At the moment RYL is one of my three homepage tabs so it always pops up and I post daily...I spend most of my time in general chat these days talking to my friends here but whiel I do venture out to support and welcome people, I think this is what i'd begin to do less and less if I was going to leave.
Alot of my old friends have left and rejoined which is nice but if there was another period where I kinda felt alone on here then... well... I wouldn;t have as much reason to be here.
As things stand, i'm going to be staying for a while so you better try harder to get rid of me =p
Edit: Oh, i'll vote for 'other' =]

Reason: Last bit
i left for a while when this new version came about. I didnt wake up one morning and thought.. feck it.. im gonna leave ryl.. I just found myself drifting away. came back cos i was bored. lol
I guess friends. Before becoming reddycoloured I thought about leaving many times, but I feel that a lot of my friends are only completely honest about how they're feeling on here in rant threads and such like - and I like being able to know when they're down etc to be there.. if that makes sense?!
"Be nice. Think happy thoughts. Champion silver linings. Love all things (not just cute things like babies and kittens) & when you do love - love like they do in power ballads (you know like on a cliff with the wind in your hair and your eyes shut, knowing you'll never know love like this). Watch out for dog poo. Smile at people - even grumpy ones. Remember anything is possible & whatever you do always try to look on the bright side."
