Oh my God, i am watching MTV - Sweet Sixteen (well it's on in the background, i know its crap) and some girl just dyed her poodle pink for her party. How cruel! The poor thing looks terrible.

however i would be terribly cruel and buy 2 little dogs & call one Jelly & one Bean...i think thats torture enough ;]

Ohh God, that show makes me want to cry! I saw it once where this girl went absolutely crazy just because her sister had parted her hair on the wrong side from everybody else, or something like that :/
I thought that's common in somehow in NYC and places alike..

Piercing at least it.. and tattooing(whether it's not that registeration number thing).. I was a bit shocked when I saw tattooed dogs on some site.. awful!
Some people around here do that for different occasions (like using that spray-on hair color to dye their fur green for St. Patrick's Day and stuff). I find it totally weird though.
Also, watching the Sweet Sixteen show is totally infuriating in the first place. I can't believe half the stuff those kids feel the need to complain about.

Well docking tails on some very waggy breeds can prevent serious injury later in life. It isn't nice, but I'd rather see a controlled docking on a puppy than a nasty spinal injury on an older dog. Ear clipping is bizzare though.

I completely agree - our last dog still had his tail and it was a nightmare (he was a big dog!!)
Docking has been banned in the UK unless it is done by a vet and for the wellbeing of the dog. However a lot of it still goes on illegally - we got our dog from rescue kennels and her tail had been 'DIY' docked.
