This isn't meant as a dig or anything but some people write their threads in either tiny writing or a colour that means it's difficult to read. I've got Windows Vista which compared to the older version of windows makes RYL's font smaller anyway (or it might be my browser) so the smaller font than standard is literally impossible to read as are the different colours which is sad because it means I can't reply to threads I would otherwise like to.
I find any font different to just standard difficult to take in and take as seriously as just standard font. Can we make a rule that font is either at least in a decent size and dark enough colour to read or just completely standard for all thread starters (but just in the support forums where it really matters what's being said)?

I don't think I should have to do that. It doesn't make sense to me that support threads are being aesthetically tuned at all. They're meant to be serious topics, not cartoons.
I think whilst it is annoying and might mean people get less support because their thread is unreadable, it is their perogative to do so. I mean they must be aware what is difficult to read and what isn't, so if knowing that they chose to use an awkward font perhaps they have their own reasons for doing so?
Right okay, fair enough. If RYL is democratic (which i guess it is) and I'm that much of a minority, then i guess it should just be left. I'll ignore those unreadable posts. & yes they must do it for a reason, for individuality or whatever but i think it's unnecessary. The content is the focus. Especially if it's something like wanting to die, Lucida sans unicode ain't gonna save ya!
I think it would be difficult to make a rule - but as you have said it can be so difficult to read and I think that is a risk the thread starter takes. I know many members cannot or will not read the writing; something people wanting support should be aware if they choose an awkward font.

Sarcasam aside, it isn't too dificult to just hit the quote button on the origonal post. it comes up with the forum coding, so the text is normal size
Thoguh part of it might be your brouser, check that the magnify (bottom right corner) is at 100%

I know that it would be easy to convert the unreadable text into a standard font but I don't think people should have to do this. Why have a thread in different font if people are going to convert it back to standard anyway? It would be a lot easier if it was in standard font in the first place.
But as has been said, I'm in the minority so I now don't expect any changes to be made. It was just a suggestion.

No, i'm not sugesting that you do, but sometimes I'll try to read a post and it has no paragraph breaks.
Mmm, I tend to find if someone's written a post in a tiny font, I just won't read it. It's just too much effort to zoom in for one post, only to zoom out again. So I don't reply. But as Aimee said, it's the risk a thread starter/poster makes. I like to think I'm not the only one who skips past posts that are either tiny or written as a massive block with no full stops or paragraphs. As much of a shame as it is.

I write in small font and its not to be different or to annoy anyone its part of my OCD, I know that certain people might not be able to read it, no one has to if they don't want to and if they do then it is simple to view it bigger. Simpler than to write a thread complaining about it no offense. Its up to the thread starter especially if they are given the choice of font, colour and size to start with.

I'm not just having a moan for no reason and I saw one of your threads and wanted to reply but couldn't because it's so small which is what spurred me on to write this thread. I wanted to try and help / support / whatever. I'm really not trying to have a go at people here.

But you just replied to my post here which was in my usual small font only 2 minutes after I posted which is pretty speedy so it obviously didn't take you much to read and reply to what I put. If you really wanted to reply to someones thread then you'd be happy to make that small effort to zoom in or whatever. I know you're not trying to have a go at anyone. People who do write in different fonts/sizes/colours should be aware that some people may not be able to read it and if they don't realise that then its there own fault.

I had to strain my eyes, and did so because I wanted to see what you put because it was you who I wanted to reply to elsewhere in the forum in the first place. I'm just saying it would be easier if it was all in standard font in the first place. Then there's be no need for messing about with zooming and such for particular people's threads.
So watch your 'if you really's' and 'obviously's' because they're a little judgmental and assumptive to be quite honest.
The whole tone of your post was a bit off putting and accusatory for someone I was more than willing to try and help out (you obviously don't care about that.) I do really want to reply but that doesn't mean I'd be happy fiddling around with settings all the time.
I honestly didn't think a thread in FC&Q would be such a challenge! Bloody hell, heh heh.
To be fair pressing ctrl + is not that hard to do, and if you really wanted to reply it takes all of 2 seconds?
Yeah, but to be fair, it takes me about ten minutes to get it back to the "normal" font size afterwards because I keep thinking it looks wrong and keep messing with it. I just don't like how it enlarges all of the page, not just the post.
