Julie and Julia
Anyone seen this movie? I absolutely LOVED it!!! Before I say anything else, know that I'm not a foodie nor am I the least bit interested in gourmet cooking... or anything involving a kitchen, for that matter. But this was such a lighthearted movie, and a great way to spend a rainy evening. Essentially, it's two parallel stories of the main characters- giving it the title. Julie is a rather average twentysomething whose goal is simply to cook all 500+ recipes from Julia Child's cookbook in a year. The other story is how Julia Child became... well, Julia Child, the wonderfully quirky cook. There were definitely a few awesome lines that I didn't see coming- mostly adult humor from Julia Child and her husband. There is quite a bit of romance in the movie without it being a chick-flick, so it's a great movie to watch with a date.
