Registering.

I got a booklet through the post and it's a "Uni guide" or something.

Anyway, it says:

"Register for your course! It's very important not to overlook this one. Take a good novel and a coffee 'coz you'll probably be queuing for hours. But once you've got your card and signed on the dotted line, you're a bona fide undergrad"

So what I was wanting to know was.
How do I register?

I didn't even know I had to until I saw that, I thought just being accepted on to the course meant I'm in?

Oh I'm confused again.

I apoligise for the amount of "Uni Help" threads I'm making, maybe we should make a thread just for helping people going to uni/getting started etc? I don't know.

Anyway, help would be appreciated!

On your first day (usually of Freshers' Week) there is 'matriculation' where you stand in queues and hour or so long, confirm your funding arrangements etc and get your student card. Some universities take their own pictures (so they can publish it in the back of field course books for everyone to laugh at everyone else's pictures...) and some places ask you to being a passport photo.

im pretty sure it means when you go in you have to go through registration, which involves sorting out your finances, mkaing sure the uni is getting its fees paid, and then you pick up your card and sign for it.

You should get info through about where to go to register and if in doubt call the uni and ask, its nothing to worry about, its just about picking up your card really, because once you have that and register you are offically a part of the uni.

Edit. For mine we went to our first class got told all of this and then went off to register so it might be the same, but if you are really unsure call the uni.

They should have something along the lines of an enrolement session on your first day. Have you got any log in details for a intranet or alike as there maybe some info on there. Make sure you take along identification and student finance confirmation to your first day incase you are enrolled. I missed my registration as I went through clearing, they won't kick you off or anything you will probably have to register at a different time. Iexpect there will be information on how to enrol during the week, we had sessions on the monday but enrolement wasn't until the wednesday

https://my.sunderland.ac.uk/enrol/un...rolement-guide does that help at all

I wouldn't worry. There'll be plenty of signs instructing you where to go and what to do. Also most universities have fresher's week reps who are there to help you with any queries you have and just help you settle in. Also I missed my registration during freshers week as I only decided I wanted to go through uni half way through that week. I had to sort it out later but it wasn't a hassle, so even if you do manage to get lost/miss it (which is unlikely) it's easy enough to sort out.

I would suggest taking something to pass the time though, the whole process take quite a few hours.

Never too late Shelz, my Mum didn't go to uni until she was 40, I know people who have done degrees in their 60's. Not everyone is suited from going to school,to college to uni, sometimes people take time out from education for all sorts of reasons. If uni is something you would like to do, why not consider it as something to aim for in the future.

My registration took like two mins, I only had to sign this sheet and collect my uni card :)

And you say I only hear what I want to.
