General Medical Question - Non Urgent - I've got a big sore elbow :P

This sounds really silly but my elbow really hurts! I've got hypermobility syndrome so my elbows bend back too far. I Don't remember doing anything to them, I haven't bumped them or anything, but they're both really sore, especially my left one. My left one's swollen as well and it feels really painful to touch. I've tried taking painkillers but it's not working and I don't really like taking them as much as I can avoid it (I have diclofenac for my joint pain) I spoke to my mum on the phone and she says it sounds like I have tennis elbow. I don't know what this is. Does anyone have any idea what I can do to get it better? I'd prefer something natural if possible.
Thanks so much! :)

Is it possible you slept on them wrong? (I have a hypermobility syndrome as well) Try resting it and some ice for the swelling.

As said above, I would definately try ice. Rest your arms as much as you can, keep them elevated and also put bandages such as tubigrips on them (though these should be removed at night).

If the diclofenac doesn't take the pain away enough you can also take Paracetamol for it in between your doses of the Diclofenac though hopefully with the rest and the ice you should be fine.

Ice should be used with something between the ice and your skin such as a damp tea towel. It should only be used on your elbow for a maximum of 10-15minutes and be removed if the area starts to get more painful or itchy. You can use Ice every hour on an area.

If it doesn't start to improve by the beginning of next week then go and see a doctor.
