Hey x
Just wondering : How many of you use journals / diaries? How do you use them? (Like how often, when, where, more than 1? etc) and do you find they help at all in anyway??
Thanks :) x

I did have one, but I got tired of writing, my hands ache. (N)
Though they can be a really good way of renting/venting out everything, instead of keeping it bottled up. :D xo.
Used to keep a journal. Unfortunately I have an incredibly nosy mother who found and read it. I only realised this once it was too late and found out that she'd been reading it for weeks. Needless to say, I don't have one any more. I just use rant threads, really. I wish I was still able to keep one, though.
AMY.
You're not as messed up as you think you are,
Your self-absorption makes you messier.
Just settle down and you could feel a whole lot better,
Deep down, you're just like everybody else.
I write in my journal when I need to get something off my chest. I don't just write about everyday things in there, only serious things that are really bothering me. Maybe once a week.

I used to keep a journal when i was in my teens...i'd write pages and pages every day until my hand was about to fall off. XD I had a couple 2" binders full and then some, i wrote so much, for years. I wrote about what was good and bad in my life, and a whole lot about my philosophical musings (i did a lot of that at that age) and drew pictures. I think it really helped me a lot; it let me sort out my thoughts and gave me something halfway constructive to do. I'm pretty sure my parents never snooped in it, they weren't really like that, and i was very fastidious about hiding it anyway.
I decided to destroy it when i got married though, as i'm afraid my husband would snoop, and it would just be too embarrassing. I wish i hadn't, but i don't think i had a choice.
I haven't kept a journal since then (livejournal and such never appealed to me for some reason), but i just started keeping one on RYL a few days ago (i just joined). I'm not sure but i think it will be helpful...
I still have an opendiary which I created in 2004. I used to write in it every day, but for the past 2 years I maybe write an entry once a month if that. I just feel better knowing I still have it

I keep a daily journal in Microsoft Word and have been for two months so far this time round. Have had numerous blogs and written journals in the past.
I have a livejournal which I pretty much just rant in lol.
I have an offline writing diary too, which I write in everyday and probably more indepth than my LJ. I stopped writing for ages but I'm finding it really therapeutic now so yep.
I used to have a hand written journal that i used to write in every day. I still have loads of filled books up in my storage box. I tend to blog more often now. I guess it's just easier to do it all digitally. I do tend to write in my hand written journal when i really need too though. There's something comforting in writing, knowing it's just between you and the book.

I have tried for years to keep diaries but I just can't keep it up! I always write in it for like two days then forget or can't be bothered. Now I just have a notebook I can write in if I've got something I really need to get out and feel like writing it :)
I have a couple of online ones. One is updated almost daily. My LJ used to be frequently updated, less so now :(
I used to have a written one but I never used it because I'm lazy and daft like that.
I used to keep written ones when I was younger, but I think thoughts so fast that it's easier to type them out, and now I have a livejournal (with over 2000 entries....!) so yes, I use it a lot. I love it. It helps me immensely, even if only to review what was going on, anything that might trigger something else, or get some feedback from my lj friends.
i use R&V (for when i want hugs lol) but i also have a handwritten journal which i use everyday for CBT stuff, adn also when i've got stuff on my mind. i don't know if it 'helps' but i suppose i must do it for some reason.
