because i have a corn snake.. and she is a complete numpty..
weve had her for a week.. shes just under a year old.
we bought her a bigger tank on Wednesday, but she spends most of her time sleeping between the backdrop thing, and the actual tank.. weve just fed her, and she tried to drag mousey back behind the background.. but it wont fit.. so she is currently trying to eat a mouse with just her head poking out.. and the rest of her body up against the glass of the back of the tank.
she sleeps a lot, and spends very little time actually crawling around her tank.
obviously i wasnt expecting her to be tame and like.. sleep on my shoulder and do tricks and stuff, but i thought she might be a bit more... visible!
i could look on a snake forum.. but yeah.
is this normal snake behaviour?

i was amazed to see one of my snakes out today, i honestly havent seen him in about 4 days.
do you have hides in the viv? some snakes will want to eat in private. and they also like to curl up somewhere out the way which is probably why your snake is hiding at the back like that.

my brother has one, and from what i see when i venture in to his room it sleeps alot of the time and i cant normally see it, so it sounds normal to me lol

well, as long as shes got something she can hide in then she should be fine maybe shes just taken a liking to the back of the viv lol.
i like to watch them strike, they are so fast! my sunkissed corn doesnt strike though, we have to pretty much put her food into her hide for her else she wont eat!
amel corn are pretty!!

^ haha have you seen it yawn yet? When my Kingsnake yawns it is the most bizarre thing with the whole stretched jaw!!
Umm but yes, snakes don't do much. The most active mine gets is when she crawls around the light fixture...and falls off.
It might get more active when you get it out of the viv, they become more curious is "new" surroundings
and Lou.. ours like to crawl along the tinyest ledge where the doors close.. she gets about half way across and falls off.. but she does it over and over again.
lol at the snakes falling, when i first got mr white he was always climbing up to a little ledge on the top of the viv and falling off.
im not sure how old my snakes are really...i think plissken is about a year or so. mr white is maybe 2 or 3 years? and i have no idea how old otis is because we found her. i dont even know what sex otis is but i always say her.

I don't but my dad had a couple of corn snake, a milk snake and a beautiful, black king snake which was so gorgeous.
I haven't lived with him for him and don't know how they are. I wasn't keen on them, despite going to meetings of local herpteological society however I could respect them.
