Triggering (SI) - I'm a hazard to myself *may be trigger*

I find my own arms triggering I was sat looking at them yesterday & all I was sat thinking was.. I want more scars. What the hell can I do? I'm trying to stop, its not my fault I'm so easily triggered is it?
I don't have a counselor yet..

No it isn't, but there are things you can do about it. It might sound daft but would wearing long sleeves help? When you're feeling bad I mean.

I appreciate that you might not have a counsellor yet, but is there someone else you could talk to in the mean time, like a doctor? Or someone like the Samaritans?

You're doing really well, keep fighting.

It's definitely not your fault at all. Trying to stop is a big step and it's going to be even harder whilst you're waiting for a counsellor. I know it must be very difficult for you when you have visual reminders of what you're wanting to do again but can't. Try and keep yourself busy, focus on other areas of your body, give yourself a pedicure, spend some time soaking your feet, paint your nails, do things to take care of your body, even if you feel like you don't deserve it.
Hang in there, it is not your fault. Don't expect it to all get better at once, councelling may throw up some things that make you feel lousy, but stick with it.

It's not your fault at all. Maybe you could do something like wear a sweat band on your wrist, depending on whether that's the triggering area or your whole arms? Keeping yourself busy may also distract. *love* xxx
