Trazedone-dip in mood-side effect

Ok, so i've been on Trazadone (250mg) for about 7 weeks now, and i do feel its helping to a degree BUT at around 7/8pm every night i get a really bad dip in my mood. I suddenly feel so very very low.

Could it be the Trazedone dose "running out" per say? Does anyone else get this? I'm under directions to take it at night before i go to bed as it helps me sleep, but now i'm worrying and thinking should i start taking it around 7/8ish instead? I'm just worried if i do that either i'll end up sleeping then, or i won't be able to sleep later? Has anyone else had this? What did you do?

I will ask my GP, but she's on holiday atm and i kind of need a quicker answer/suggestions?

Thanks

I took trazedone for insomnia, but only 25-50 mg though...So I can't really relate to what's happening to you, but mostly because it would just knock me out, lol. I'm not sure if it's "running out" per se, because I always got the impression that these medications built up in your body if you took them consistently every day.....But maybe I am wrong.

When exactly do you take it? I'm a little confused by your wording....When I take it at night, within 20-30 min. I can hardly keep my eyes open and find it difficult to get up in the morning, so you may sleep just fine during the night. Everyone is different though, and I'm pretty sensitive to medications...

I don't know if this post helps at all, but I think your best bet would be to talk to your doctor. In the meantime, is there something you could do to "distract" you from your low mood? I know that's hard, but do you have a friend you could call or a hobby that makes you happy or requires a lot of concentration?

Take care.
