What do you mean by "drying them"?

Well it breaks my heart to see you this way,
The beauty in life, where's it gone?
And somebody told me you were doing okay,
Somehow I guess they were wrong.

We are so accustomed to disguise ourselves to others that in the end we become disguised to ourselves.

That is normal, scar tissue is a lot dryer with less moisture in it than normal tissue. You might want to try using some vitamin e cream or coco button on them to help soften them an stop them peeling
