Wrapped around me
My "illness" holds me tight
Hugging me and holding me,
Cradling me in its arms
But suffocating me at the same time.
I'm told it is an illness
But to me its like a friend
Always there
Through good and bad
Helping me to be a winner
And helping me get thinner.
I'm told that my friend
Will never let me go
And in time
That its me, that must let her go.
But I don't want to
Or need to
I need to be thin
I didn't ask for this friend
She just came along
When I started out trying to get control
and
Trying to be thin
Now inside I'm torn up
And confused
But still going to get thinner
I must
I don't care what they say
I cannot change
I suppose I'll always be this way
And my friend
Whose been there
Through good and through bad
When no one else was
Will be there with me to The End.
