You will probably get a bad stomach... and feel ill for a few days maybe. I've never eaten raw chicken but I know that you're supposed to make sure it's cooked thoroughly before you eat it, so... yeah, it's likely that you're going to feel sick.

You'll feel sick and possibly get food poisoning, especially considering it was out of date.. It wasn't a good idea, but if you're not feeling any better in about 2-3 days, I think it'd be a good idea to see a dr. I think it's a good idea to see a dr now to make sure you'll be okay, but.. That's your choice.
I hope you'll be okay
*hugs*
Allie, I'll never forget you..
Love You Always.
You gain strength, courage, and confidence by every experience in which you really stop to look fear in the face. You must do the things which you think you cannot do.
Can I please remind members here that while whatever the original person has done may not have been the most common sense thing to do - labelling it stupid is not productive what so ever and those comments that are not contributing to helpful discussion will be removed.
Guys, what is with the 'It was a stupid thing to do.' ect?
Self harm is a stupid thing to do, but I'm guessing the majority of us do it. Don't have anything positive or supportive to say, then just ignore this thread.
EDIT: WAimee said everything so much better than me <3
Well, there is no way to determine that anything will happen for sure. Salmonella infection is a possibility. If this happens you will likely have abdominal pain, a fever, nausea, and diarrhea. In most healthy people salmonella infection doesn't require the hospital, unless dehydration occurs.
It's also possible to catch another bacterial infection from any bacteria growing in or on the food. It's impossible to tell what would happen in that case because it would all depend on the specific bacteria involved.
Well it breaks my heart to see you this way,
The beauty in life, where's it gone?
And somebody told me you were doing okay,
Somehow I guess they were wrong.
The reason we are normally advised to cook food such as chicken through is because bacteria grows/resides on it, the heat of the oven in cooking kills the bacteria, making it safer for human's to ingest.
Generally, raw chicken runs the risk of you having food poisoning owing to the presence of these bacteria, such as salmonela. Depending on how strong your immune system is and the food you ate, this can be fairly harsh on the system. As Aidey says, fever, stomach pain and diahrreoa along with neausea are common with such food poisonings. The general suggestion if you have these symptoms is to ensure you stay hydrated and use a fluid replacement sachet (you can get these in most good pharmacist) which replace important nutrients such as salt and water, that your body needs.
If you are feeling very bad, it would be a good idea to go to your Dr to be checked out.
If the Human brain were so simple that we could understand it, we would be so simple that we wouldn't.

Your mind fogs up, you open your eyes and you are surrounded,,, chained to what you can't see,,, only sense. I'm choking when I try to inhale. My throat constricts, I can't swallow,
I think I bit off more than I could chew
actual raw chicken won't cause any harm unless you get ill from these bacteria. not all raw chicken has enough of these bacteria to cause harm. given that it was out of date it is more likely to have greater quantities of these bacteria. try not to think 'raw chicken will make you ill' or you could start thinking you are ill when you're not. i get it a lot when i've eaten half a meal (say chicken kiev, or in my worst case a piece of fish) and suddenly see ooh it looks a bit undercooked. in reality it's probably fine, and people eat raw food all the time with no consequences, but i make myself think i'm ill and will get stomach pains from it etc, when everyone else who has eaten the same has been absolutley fine.
if you start to feel ill see a dr, in the meantime try to relax. mand x

Ew, raw chicken. Ive eat not cooked enough chicken before, and i was poorly for 3-4 days. Sickness, sweats and dizyness. It isnt a good idea hun :] Hope your well
thank you, Lily, for saving mummy's life*.
You are my one and only, you can wrap your fingers round my thumb and hold me tight, and you'll be alright.
If you start to feel sick, ginger & peppermint tea are both helpful with nausea so it might be useful to get hold of them Or buy other products with ginger root in them. Take care of yourself x
Ignore the nasty comments babe, they aren't needed. All of us do things that aren't always a good idea from time to time, but there are usually lots of reasons behind why we do things, and the fact that we're hurting and many other things. It's good you posted for advice. x
Hope you're doing ok. xx
