Triggering (SI) - girl at work use to si
today at work one of the women I work with could tell I was having a bad day. After trying to explain to her what was wrong the girl from the bakery and I were talking and to talking about family (she moved out of her house and is younger than me) to how she use to be psychotic. When the lady I work with gave her a questioning look she explained how she used to cut and even OD. She then went on to show us her scars. When I first met her I had a feeling the scars on her arms were from SI. she also showed us the scars on her hips. I felt weird seeing them specially since my thighs are covered in more noticeable scars and more recently my wrist. I don't know if I see her tomorrow but it was weird. My co-worker gave us a hug before she left. I think it got to me today because I was having a bad day and was already triggered so idk..... I just felt like sharing.... Hugs are always welcome

Is it possible that she noticed your scar? Maybe she did and felt that she could open up to you without the fear of judgement. I don't know it's just a thought. Maybe you could try talking to her and telling her that you are there for her as long as it isn't too triggering for you.
BTW I like the username It's good to see another fan of NCIS. Can't wait for NCIS LA to start!

She said something because we were talking about family and then how moved out because she couldn't deal with her family anymore. I doubt she saw my scars because they are covered. Neither were there today. I forgot to check the schedule to see what's going on tomorrow. I'm glad they weren't there because I had an appointment with my counselor and she told me that I wasn't trying hard enough in nicer words. So I was in a fowl mood and didn't feel like explaining.... I'm just worried their going to get suspicious as to why I always have my wrist covered.... I'm not even sure if they will notice.

yeah i could see why that is triggering. *hugs* she might be a good person to talk to to help you, but don't let her problems trigger you too much either.

Hey Ziva lover,
How are you? I hope your feeling better.......I agree that your co-worker might be a good person to talk to but be wary if you find it too upsetting. Maybe you should look for a new counsellor.......it sounds like your current one may not understand what you are going through. I don't believe that you are not trying to get better! Don't feel obligated to uncover your wrist if your not comfortable with it......I know I'm very wary of other people seeing my own scars to the point where I'm wearing long sleeve shirts in mid summer.
Anyway it would be great to hear how you are going :)
Take care,
Nathan

Thank you......I;m doing ok.... I'm not sure I can talk to her. I have a hard time opening up which is why I don't want to switch counselors. She somewhat understands...I guess about as much as a non-si'er can. I ended up talking to the other co-worker last night and admitted that I still do it because I was stressed and she said something to me that bothered me plus she had opened up to me so yea. I'm now stressing over the fact that I'm seeing a new dr. Wednesday. She's doing a physical so I'm freaking out...... I have no idea how she'll react to it. I'm thinking of reminding her that I'm 18 so she can't call my parents.
