It could have... I dont have Avoidant Personality Disorder but I do have Social Anxiety Disorder and I feel that the anxiety has really amplified my self harm issues. I think that anything that amplifies a certain feeling/trait can lead to issues like SI or ED. Do you talk to anyone about the APD? If not, I hope you will consider going to a therapist or psych in order to help...

Negative mindset doesn't have to be a disorder. It can just be a "negative mindset". And even so, many disorders can cover this symptom. It doesn't have to be a disorder. And even if it was, you'd have to focus on the symptom, not the actual label.

It's pretty much the same thing. Avoiding social situations for fear of being embarassed or judged. Self-imposed isolation. Fear of intimate relationships but craving the closeness they bring.
I go to a therapist, but I haven't told her about this yet. I don't know when my next appointment with her is.

I know what it is, but there is a difference between an actual disorder and a difficulty. Both of which will need to be worked on within the symptoms displayed, so whether or not you have a diagnosis, you'll need to work on the symptom at hand either way.

I dont' have avoidant personality disorder, so I dont really know.
But the negative mindset associated with it (and many other mental illnesses) def could have contributed to the ED and SI issues.
if not causing, at least amplifying
hope you're ok
