What have you done to try to stop SH? Sometimes things we've tried need to be tried more than once before it works. If not it may give you hints as to what will do the trick for you. For me, the best distraction is some fun form of expercising, whether it be free throwing basketball or playing catch and it's probably more effective if you play with someone else.

Do you have people that can support you with this; a therapist? It's important to have a support system to help you through this.
Distractions can help in the short term but for the long term you need to find a positive replacement to your SH. Do you have any ideas of what that could be?
We can't always control the things that happen around us, but we can control how we react to what happens around us. Maybe you could let is know what's going on in your life that makes you feel things are falling apart.
