chapter one paragraph one
Chapter One: Rescue
My back slammed into another rock as I was flung around in the icy cold water. My mouth, nose and ears were filling with water, along with my lungs. I fought to reach the surface but couldn’t get my arms or legs to work. I kept sinking more and more into the abyss of the cold icy river. I stopped fighting the currents allowing them to pull me whichever way they wanted me to go. I smashed into another rock almost screaming out in pain as it dug into my stomach and chest. I clung to the rock my lungs still filling up, my head beginning to spin from the lack of oxygen. I kicked my legs as hard as I could and practically climbed the rock to try and reach the surface. My head broke free of the torturous currents for a second before I was sucked back under, black dots swam in front of my eyes, as I slowly floated no longer able to fight, my frozen limbs unable to work. I slowly lost consciousness letting myself be swallowed by the darkness.
