Green Arrows

The green arrows are being really mean,
I've read everything in general and I just cant get the arrow to disappear, i've tried 8 or 9 times...is there a reason for this?

Go to General Chat, go to forum tools at the top in that blue bar, and press mark forum as read.

Does that work?

If so there must have been something that isn't read I guess!

let me know

Harley

The green arrows are mean because they won't take you to the last post you viewed like on v.2. *sulks*

If you double click on the green arrow, it will mark that entire forum/thread as having been read

When I double click on the green arrow of a thread, it locks it. :(

Sorry if I ever accidentally lock anyone's thread, I'll unlock it straight away - promise!

Yeah Allie that is obviously only for Mods and will only work in a forum - what James mentioned there will work for whole forums for Mods though.

Can normal members use this inside boards fine?

Thanks

Harley

Nothing happens on individual threads when you double click the green arrows.

I can do it for a whole Forum, when looking at them all, but not threads.

Oh I had presumed that normal members would have the action to do that, even if Mods didnt

Sorry about that! You can however go to Thread Tools at the top of any thread and mark the thread as read from there.

What are the little orange arrows pointing down next to the thread titles on some of the threads?

Well it breaks my heart to see you this way,
The beauty in life, where's it gone?
And somebody told me you were doing okay,
Somehow I guess they were wrong.

View First Unread
Yeah this link in the title will take you to the first unread post in any thread. All threads should have one (except perhaps threads with no replies yet)

The green arrows on the left show that there are new posts. Double click them to mark forum as read.
The little blue arrows on the end of a post take you to the last message.
And the little orange arrows as mentioned above take you to the first unread answer.

Is someone going to make a user guide for all this ready for when we go live??

Hang on - clicking the text in the last post on the main forum listings will also take you to the last unread post, not the last post of the thread.

In a forum, the green arrows only indicate threads that have got replies since you last viewed it.

yeah all this wil be in Kayas Guide to RYL once complete :)

YAY ok.
Otherwise, we could have expecte this thread to be repeated a few hundred times just in the first few days.
