I'm just that cool, I have triops
for those of you who don't know what they are, see link for pics, they're cousins of the sea monkey, and get their name from their three eyes.
theres also loads of videos on youtube, i'll try and post one sometime.
Mine are currently only three days old so are still babies and can't be seen without a magnifying glass, but by next week they will be full adults and looking like the ones in the pics, then the bigger ones eat the smaller ones until you're left with a small few :)
i had sea monkeys for ages, but my mummy didn't like looking at them when doing her washing up (they were on the kitchen windowsill) so she threw them away :( mand x

my sister used to have some of those. they were great, but she had one that ate all the others, so there was just one big fat triop instead of lots of little ones!
they lived in the conservatory and it got hot so the water started evaporating and the triop got washed up on the side of the triop-house thingy and died :'(
but they were good!

I remember in science class at school we grew some of these and had a competition to see which class could grow the biggest one. We won, but then over the holidays the teacher from the other class offered to look after our massive one and "forgot" to feed it. I'm sure that counts as cheating.
on the net it says about drying out any eggs that are laid so you can hatch them - do you have to dry them out or will they hatch if you just leave them to it? i know with sea monkeys you just leave them and they just breed and multiply a bit like guppies! mand x

right i see so basically they will die and will have eaten the next generation? that's a clever way to survive....
the sea monkeys just kept re-producing, the only ones that died were a few young but mostly the geriatrics. of course there were far more young than old in there, so those that did get eaten didn't make too much difference, it didn't wipe out the next generation or anything.
