Coping with epilepsy

Hey guys

So I've had epilepsy for like 9 years.
Its definitely been worse than this before but also definitely getting worse now.
Last week I had lots of seizures in a row and needed IV medication.
I don't feel great right now and I'm really scared of it happening again and not having anyone around to help.
I don't have any friends or family nearby.
I don't want to die or get brain damage or any of the awful things that can happen.

I'm not sure if anyone can give me any advice on this.
I've considered calling 111 today but what can they really do? I just feel unwell. I haven't had a seizure today (yet)
So I feel like it would be pointless.

So I'm not really sure what support I'd like here
But needed to share

I'm fine! Totally fine. I don't know why it's coming out all loud and squeaky, 'cause really, I'm fine!

Who else is fine?!?!?

Well I can somewhat understand from a diabetic point of view. Although it's obviously different in the way it's managed and how it manifests, there are still times where I worry more because of not having anyone else around to help.

And I think you know maybe why it's got worse lately. I'm obviously can't judge at all but can speak from experience from the times where I've not been looking after myself at all and realising on waking up in the morning that I very easily might not have. Having medical conditions on top of everything else makes it so much more complicated. Just saying.

Did you discuss any of this with your doctor the other day?

There could be ways to check in with people when you're not feeling good. Like a friend/family member/neighbour (even cpn, do they do that?) who knows your address and if you don't reply at a scheduled time they will call an ambulance. Or use this thread in a similar way. I know it's not easy to feel reliant on other people or like you're bothering them unnecessarily but if you're worried then surely it's necessary?

Do you have ID or a medical bracelet or anything when you're out and about?

Just some thoughts there. <3

Thanks np <3

I didn't get time to talk about it with my gp.
She would have been ok with it but I felt like I'd kept her on the phone too long.

I messaged a friend earlier and he said call 111
So I did. And they said speak to gp tomorrow.
But I started crying and ge quickly said he'd get someone to call me back later this afternoon or this evening
I really hope I can last that long without having any seizures.
I don't know who else I could ask about checking in

I do have an medical ID bracelet I wear when I'm not at work.

I hope someone does call you back.

Speaking to your gp tomorrow is definitely a good plan.

I don't know anything at all about what causes seizures but you know your triggers so is there something you can do today to help avoid it? How's your eating been today? And liquids, like proper water instead of coke zero?

Can you speak to the neighbour who comes and does your cleaning?

What about getting one of those medical alert things. I dunno what brands there are in your country, but you can wear them as a pendant or on your wrist and hit them and they phone help if you need. You could also maybe ask your mum or coworkers if they'd be willing to check in on your regularly like nonperson suggested?

Agree re the eating stuff probably not helping anything. Hope you can get some support related to that soon. <3

I really hope so.

Does anyone have her number? Even if she's in hospital she's usually still on here too or at least able to give some updates.

I hope she’s somewhere safe with people looking after her.
