berni, i thought sleeping bags were like 0-6 months and 6-12 months? at least chloe's ones were. she started to hate her sleeping bag.

Mand, you can get sleeping bags to go up to age 10 if you want. At the moment, Fin dislikes anything over him, so no grobags, duvets or quilts. It's starting to get annoying!

yeah i know they go up higher, just was wondering why the baby ones didn't fit, chloe is only in 6-9 clothes berni and they drown her!

chloe will have a quilt, but prefers to be covered up after she has gone to sleep. we leave her with her chew rag, put bonjela on her gums and go back in 10 mins later to put her quilt on her.

Shona, would Fin be warm enough if you put him in a sleepsuit with a jumper and some soft tracksuity-like trousers on? so no quilts etc?

The most i manage is a walk in sleeper (fleecy sleepsuit) which isn't as warm as a duvet/quilt and then, if he's willing, i can pop his microwavable dinosaur in with him.

I wouldn't have an electric blanket in my house, let alone his bed.

Berni, ask your HV about a family fund, usually this goes up to around £100 and helps low income families buy baby equipment and clothing.

Every authority has some version of it, just say to your HV that you're not doing so great financially and if there's a fund available to help with buying essentials. As little ones get older, most authorities help by providing stair gates, can't remember the name of the initiative.

Surestart centres usually sell safety equipment at discounted prices too. Berni, I have some 6-9 month clothes, 9-12 month clothes and fleece sleepsuits, and 6-12 month vests I want to get rid of if you want any of them, or want me to keep hold of them and post them to you when he gets a bit bigger? Or anybody is welcome to them if you need them :)

We've got a swap shop in the sure start centre near me. Really useful stuff! I get most of Adela's clothes in bundles off ebay, works out a lot cheaper.

I can bring them to the next meet (if I make it, 2 hours on a train isn't so much fun now he wants to be down and crawling everywhere!) or I can just post them to you.. just PM me your address and I'll package it up.

I'm not sure if I'll make it or not, but I can keep hold of them for a bit if you want to wait until you're a bit more unpacked before I send them?

6-9 trousers fit chloe, but the arms on tops are too long and the waists fit, but the tops are too baggy?

she's still coughing badly, was sick all over my mum last night (poor woman she was dripping andm aking a puddle LOL) because she couldnt stop coughing.

Just found a nice desert, it does have sugar in but for an occasional treat it's nice, you know in the tinned fruit aisle they do the little plastic packs of fruit for kids to take in lunchboxes? well chloe likes the mango in mango rice pudding that they do, the chunks are quite big but really soft and she managed fine with her 4 teeth and gums lol!

hope you're all ok, mand x

freyja is in 6-9 months as well, though she has started to move into the 9-12 now. shes at that transition stage where she is wearing both.

flippin heck lol! Chloe is only just into 6-9 haha lol. i find it funny that those people who we said 'you'll be able to have chloe's clothes when she's outgrown them' are now saying 'do you want some of x's clothes because they don't fit anymore'.

she's wearing turned up 6-9 jeans now, the waist is a little too big so my mum put in a second popper to make the waistband tighter, the vests and sleep suits fit lengthwise but are a little too wide for her.

what centile is freyja on? chloe's firmly in the middle of the 25th for everything, which is further down than when she was born, she was on the line of 25th/50th when she was born.

lol today Maddles pointed at a little girl in a pushchair and said 'baby'. I said 'no, she's a little girl, she's older than you'. Turns out she was three months younger! She was huge! And Madeleine is small. She's only just grown into 12-18 month clothes (trousers are still too long), and she's 21 months now.

This week's adventure is... climbing! Madeleine climbs everything, like a little monkey. She hardly ever falls and hurts herself, but it's very scary when she's standing on top of the back of the sofa!

If I were a bird - fish
My wings I would spread
I'd swoop over you
And plop on your head.

Chloe can climb the stairs! She's cute, she kneels on each step, then reaches onto the banister spindles to pull herself up to standing.

she can't do the first step though, because she gets to one knee on the first step and tries to push up to get her other knee on and her feet slide on the tiles and she sinks slowly to the floor. luckily we have lots of doors that she can't get open yet, otherwise we're looking at stairgates.

anyone know a stair gate that attaches to wall on one side and a rounded banister on the other? we have an open stairway and the banister supports are round.
