Hi... umm, ok this is kind of... awkward, but I have some questions...
I used to be a Christian but had a bad experience with my church and haven't really known what I believe since... I was wondering if there was someone who could PM me that is willing to talk to me about some questions I have?
ems i've given up on the busyness i haven't started Christmas shopping.
Then wear the gold hat, if that will move her;
If you can bounce high, bounce for her too,
Till she cry "Lover, gold-hatted, high-bouncing lover,
I must have you!"

Liz - I'm here if you need someone else to talk with. I know it can be really hard identifying yourself as a Christian (or even believing in God at all) after problems with the church. *hugs*
In other news: my eval went really well, so I now have a diagnosis and a treatment plan. We're doing a faith-based approach, which should be interesting. Thanks for all the support earlier. =]
My friend "Souly" is going through a really hard time. If you all could send prayers her way it'd be very appreciated.

I try to love the sinner but it's more than the sin will allow. I've looked a long time into the dark,
hoping the truth would show me how

Um, I just wanted to say hello, cause I haven't been on here for quite a while. I still read this thread sometimes though. And I'm praying every night for all you RYLers in need. I hope everyone is OK.
i'm still here, pretty much as normal, except now i'm on new meds :)
also, last week i made quite a few mistakes, so i was keen to go to confession at our parish service this coming friday - but then i remembered we've got a new priest, so i'll be saying my confession to someone i don't know and who doesn't know me.
if on friday someone could pray that i remember it's God i'm confessing to, and that who the priest is doesn't matter, i would be very grateful - i am worried i will back out!
i'm so grateful for the sacraments, receiving them is in part saying to the Voice that i don't have to listen to him and there's another way of living apart from SH etc, but it is always very hard for me to do.
good luck everyone sitting exams

im not exactly christian. im more confused but like i dont get how beliveing in a supreme being can even help. how does it even have anythign to do wit cutting? because off an on i go to church and i pray and i pray but i cant seem to find strength. help?
OhSoAvalanche: well, to be blunt, it doesn't. there's nothing about believing that God exists that will help with SI...or anything else. it's God himself that changes things. it's getting to know him, talking to him, loving and being loved by him. he's not so much concerned with your actions as he is with YOU. praying can help...but instead of just asking God to do things, take some time to have a conversation. tell him how you feel, all your hopes and dreams and fears. treat him like a person--he's more than just a cosmic vending machine. listen, and you might be surprised at what you hear!
for a look at why those trying to follow God believe self injury is wrong and unneccessary you might find this link and this one helpful.
