Boys or girls? I would say it depends on whether you mean which I prefer the company of and which I am am most attracted to but it makes little difference. In both cases it's girls. It may do my macho credentials little good but then I don't have any macho credentials so it matters not. I find a lot of boys my age are just puerile and immature.
favourite colour? I don't really have one but if I had to choose, it would probably orange. It's a bright, warm colour and reminds me of summer.
do you drive? That depends on what you mean by drive. I don't drive cars, motorbikes or scooters but I do regularly drive people round the bend.
What do you drive? Friends, family, work colleagues, random passers by... Anyone who spends any amount of time with me, really.
any pets? I have a few pet hates but no pets of the animal variety. I intend to get one one day, though.
do you like reading? I do very much. I used to read far more than I used to, though.
fave book? That's a toughie. Either The Lord of the Rings or Good Omens by Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman
fave band? That depends on what mood I'm in but right now it's probably Pink Floyd.

fave food? I don't really have one. I'm not really fussy and I eat most things. Sometimes I'll crave a particular food but I don't have one thing I love to eat more than any other.

any phobias? Nothing specific. I have a few social phobias but nothing specific or probably severe enough to be considered a phobia.
HD or Blu Ray? Blu Ray is a disc used for storing High Definition data. Do you want to know which I prefer out of the format itself and an optical storage disc used to store it? If you mean HD DVD or Blu Ray then I prefer Blu Ray. Firstly it is technically a far superior format as it can hold considerably more data and is capable of much faster read speeds. Secondly, as only really Toshiba adopted the HD DVD and Blu Ray has since become the primary High Definition DVD format, HD DVD has been rendered pretty much obsolete. Lastly, and probably the main reason Blu Ray won the format war is that "Blu-ray" is so much easier to say that "HD DVD".
Football or rugby? Definately Rugby. The players themselves are generally much more articulate and intelligent. Footballers are generally overpaid yobs. The game of football itself is generally just boring. I can think of a couple of good matches but they are the exception not the rule. I don't understand the rules of rugby and I'm sure a lot of the players probably don't but as a spectacle to watch though, it's fantastic. Football doesn't come close. I prefer the attitude of rugby referees too. If you tripped up and fell to the floor clutching your face after doing a few spectacular rolls in a game of rugby, you'd be told to just get up and grow up while a football referee would be all over the area showering anyone within 50 yards with red cards.
Law and order or CSI? I don't actually watch either, so I can't comment.
Windows or Apple? Windows. It has its faults but I just hate Apple with a passion. Their products are marketed to be cool and ultimately end up as glorified fisher price activity centres for adults.

town or country? To live in or visit? I enjoy a bit of tranquillity at times and it's nice going up to see my girlfriend in the lake district but I couldn't live there. I'd just get bored. As attractive as the scenery is, if you see it every day you become used to it and it loses its "wow" factor. I'm a townie at heart and I love going round big cities. I think as a place to live in, though, I'd prefer to live in a town that was at least close to some greenery. I think Durham would probably be may favourite place to live, though. It is a city with plenty there but it has a lot of character and with the river and the countryside close by, it's the perfect compromise.
bats or birds? Probably birds but more specifically birds of prey or raptors. I think they are beautiful creatures but at the same time their power and their skill always impresses me.
what animal would you be? Probably a human. There's so much I can do as a human that I would miss if I were any other animal. However, if I had to be a different animal, it would probably be a Peregrine Falcon. I'd love to have the freedom of flight.
blue hair or red hair? Definitely red hair. I think red hair looks hot. And by that I mean both natural redheads (Tori Amos, Shirley Manson ... drawls) and dyed reheads (Franka Potente in Run Lola Run .. drawls more)

any totally irational fears? I don't think any fear is irrational. Imagine you had a fear of feathers your whole life and then suddenly in some Hitchcock derived madness all the birds in the world decided to use their old feathers to attack humans and bring us under their control, who would silly and irrational then? (I'm not sure who a bird would use feather as a melee weapon, though. Yes, I do. They'd tickle us. They'd bring humanity to it's knees and reduce to a squirming, giggling heap for their own amusement.) Back to the question, I don't really have any phobias - rational or otherwise.
whole milk or skimed? I don't like whole milk or skimmed. I can only really drink semi-skimmed but I do love semi-skimmed milk.
favorate cereal? My usual cereal is Tesco's Honey Nut cornflakes but I do like cheerios and I do like crunchy, fruity cereal that comes as sort of blocks or boulder things rather than flakes. They are usually more expensive, though.
